Sandra’s Workshop 3311

On the 15th December 3311, a Galnet was released from Sandra Corrs, CEO of Sandra’s Workshop, requesting help delivering gifts for the festive season.

Note: You will need either a Small or Medium sized ship, ideally with at least 8 or more cargo space.

Galnet: SANDRA’S WORKSHOP ASKS FOR FESTIVE GIFT COURIERS

15 DEC 3311

The CEO of leading children’s toy manufacturer Sandra’s Workshop has once again requested help with parcel deliveries.

Sandra Corrs, the much-loved philanthropist who provides gifts to children across the core systems each year, has made similar requests in previous years. Last year, with the Thargoid invasion just beginning, her courier fleet was loaned out to help refugee evacuation efforts.

This year a different problem has emerged, as Sandra explained to Vox Galactica:

“We had Our Dolph’s Routes transport fleet all prepped in advance this year, and with no Thargoids in sight, we thought we would finally have no more hiccups. Oh, how wrong we were!

This year, we’ve been hacked, and most of our location data for each present was wiped clean. We managed to restore the majority from a backup, but a few presents are going out that we still need help with figuring out where to deliver them.”

“Even our fleet won’t be able to deliver all our presents on time, given the extra work needed to track down their proper delivery points. We’ll need to rely once again on kind-hearted pilots to volunteer their time and ensure we can brighten the smiles on every child on our list.”

Pilots willing to help Sandra’s Workshop can collect festive gifts from the Frost Dock outpost in the Njambalba system. The outpost can only provide landing pads for small- and medium-sized vessels.

A beacon outside Frost Dock holds delivery information, which can be acquired via scan.

Galnet: Sandra’s Workshop Asks for Festive Gift Couriers

Upon visiting the Njambalba system and then docking at the Frost Dock outpost, you will be greeted with an Inbox message from Sandra Corrs, and just under 9.5 km away there is a Listening Post named “Sandra’s Postbox” which contains letters from the children requesting gifts.

While you are docked, make sure to purchase some “Festive Gifts” which is a rare commodity available at the outpost.

You will need to purchase at least 8 Festive Gifts, as you will need to sell 1 Festive Gift to each station (listed below) to be able to complete the event.

MESSAGE FROM SANDRA CORRS

Season’s greetings!

Thank you for visiting Frost Dock, Commander. It’s such a busy time of year here, and we’re in need of your help, again.

Outside this station is a beacon containing letters from children all across the bubble. Someone who is now on my naughty list has removed the delivery instructions from some of the kids’ messages!

If you haven’t already, scan the beacon to obtain a selection of letters. You’ll have to figure out where the sender lives from the message text – it can sometimes be confusing.

Don’t forget to collect Festive Gifts from the commodity market at Frost Dock first – I’ll make sure the appropriate gifts are included. For your help, I’ve arranged for a selection of fine festive rewards with each confirmed delivery.

Have a wonderful holiday season!
Sandra

After scanning the Listening Post named “Sandra’s Postbox” just outside of the station, you will receive the following 8 gift requests:

Gunther Albrecht, Age 8

Hi Sandra,

Sometimes I get scared in the dark. But the big monkey lantern hanging next to my bed is broken.

My brother Harry says I should grow up. He is a doodoo head.

Please can I have a new big monkey lantern that will stay on all night? Then I won’t get scared!

Thank you and happy holidays!

Gunther

Image: SANDRA’S WORKSHOP 3311 1/8

Gunther’s letter gives us a couple of clues to find his location, “big monkey” and his brothers name, “Harry“.

While searching the Galaxy Map for “Monkey” will not get any results for stations, and searching for “Harry” will only return a single result, if we instead search for “Big” we get many more results, including one named “Big Harry’s Monkey Hangout” in the Jotunheim system.

Upon travelling to Big Harry’s Monkey Hangout in the Jotunheim system and delivering at least one Festive Gift, you will receive an inbox message with the following:

Big Harry’s Monkey Hangout gift received!

Many thanks, Commander. Your reward for making this delivery is:

Lana Henriksen, Age 9

Dear Sandra,

I hope I am on the good list! I really, really want a new bike. There’s this new one, the Hotrod LC-T, which looks very cool! I would like the Chamo Frost one because it is super shiny!

My mom said if eat all my vegetables then I might get one for Christmas. But it’s hard because my dad keeps buying me mountains of candy when I finish all my homework each week, and it ruins my appetite!

Maybe I need a big neon sign for my Dad to remind him not to buy so much candy! Not too big though, because I want candy sometimes.

Lots of love,

Lana

The clues in Lana’s letter appear to be “Chamo” and “Frost“, and if we search the Galaxy Map for “Frost”, we’ll see that there is a “Frost Terminal” in the Chamo system.

Upon travelling to Frost Terminal in the Chamo system and delivering at least one Festive Gift, you will receive an inbox message with the following:

3311 FESTIVE DELIVERY COMPLETE 2/8

Frost Terminal gift received!

Many thanks, Commander. Your reward for making this delivery is:

SANDRA’S WORKSHOP 3311 3/8

Jin Li, Age 6

Hi Sandra,

We learned today in school that our system is named after the Chinese word for ‘Longevity’. I do not know what longevity means but it sounds nice.

Please send me a toy from the movie The Wubbles. Mom says my uncle Henry was in the movie but he does not look like a Wubble. l live in the only outpost in my system.

Thankyou!

Jin

Message 3/8

Jin’s message stats that their “system is named after the Chinese word for ‘Longevity’ “. “Shòu” is the Chinese word/character for “longevity”, and if we search the Galaxy Map for “Shou”, we find that there is a system with that name and upon entering the system we discover that it only has a single outpost in it called Steele Mine.

Upon travelling to Steele Mine in the Shou system and delivering at least one Festive Gift, you will receive an inbox message with the following:

3311 FESTIVE DELIVERY COMPLETE 3/8

Steele Mine gift received!

Many thanks, Commander. Your reward for making this delivery is:

SANDRA’S WORKSHOP 3311 4/8

Phillip O’Rourke, Age 8

Heya Sandra,

My sister took me to a museum about animals on Earth! It had a big bird that had a GIANT tail with eyes all over it! And it danced!

I would love one of these birds but Dad says they’re not around anymore. So can I have a stuffed toy that looks like one?

Merry Christmas!

Phillip

Image: SANDRA’S WORKSHOP 3311 4/8

Phillip’s description of “a big bird that had a GIANT tail with eyes all over it! And it danced!” sounds very similar to the description of a type of bird named Peacock that used to be present on Earth. If we search the Galaxy Map for “Peacock”, we will find that there is indeed a Peacock system, and the only orbital station in the system being Phillips Dock, the same name as the child requesting a stuffed peacock toy.

Upon travelling to Phillips Dock in the Peacock system and delivering at least one Festive Gift, you will receive an inbox message with the following:

3311 FESTIVE DELIVERY COMPLETE 4/8

Phillips Dock gift received!

Many thanks, Commander. Your reward for making this delivery is:

SANDRA’S WORKSHOP 3311 5/8

Ari Ani, Age 9

Hi Sandra,

There is a show about three wise men who followed a star. So I asked Dad – he works in Human Resources – if they docked at our Depot. He said no because we only have two working landing pads right now, and he can’t find any engineers to fix them.

Please send some tools to Dad so he can fix the landing pads. Label it for Tom (That’s Dad’s name). Our dock name is like one of the presents carried by the three wise men. That’s so cool!

Thanks heaps,

Ari

Image: SANDRA’S WORKSHOP 3311 5/8

Ari’s letter mentions “three wise men who followed a star” and “Our dock name is like one of the presents carried by the three wise men.“.

On ancient Earth, there was a tale about three wise men who followed a star and then gave gifts to a young child – the gifts being Gold, Frankincense, and Myrrh. Searching the Galaxy Map for Frankincense, and Myrrh will not return any results, however searching for Gold will quite a few.

To help narrow down our destination, Ari also mentioned “Dock“, his Dad’s name “Tom“, along with the families surname “Ani” at the start of the letter.

Looking through the list of results, there is a Gold Dock in the Tomani system, which seems to match up with the clues.

Upon travelling to Gold Dock in the Tomani system and delivering at least one Festive Gift, you will receive an inbox message with the following:

Many thanks, Commander. Your reward for making this delivery is:

Sophie Park, Age 7

Dear Sandra,

Aunty Carol read me a Christmas story last week about a mean old man. But he learned about being kind and generous at Christmas time. The mean old man was visited by a spirit friend in chains who said three more ghosts would visit him. The spirit friend is named after the base where I live!

Can ghosts live in space? It sounds very cold but maybe ghosts don’t get cold.

That story was very good and I want to read more books like it.
Please send me some!

Merry Christmas, Sandra!

Love Sophie

Image: SANDRA’S WORKSHOP 3311 6/8

Sophie letter mentions “Aunty Carol read me a Christmas story last week about a mean old man. But he learned about being kind and generous at Christmas time. The mean old man was visited by a spirit friend in chains who said three more ghosts would visit him.“.

A number of clues here point towards another ancient Earth tale, “A Christmas Carol“. In the story, an elderly man named Ebenezer Scrooge, is visited by the ghost of his former business partner Jacob Marley. If we search the Galaxy Map with the surname of the former business partner, Marley, then we find that there are several possible results.

To help narrow down our destination, Sophie also mentioned stated that “The spirit friend is named after the base where I live!“. If we combine Marley and Base in our search, we find that there is a single result for a “Marley Base” in the Guan Gong system.

Upon travelling to Marley Base in the Guan Gong system and delivering at least one Festive Gift, you will receive an inbox message with the following:

3311 FESTIVE DELIVERY COMPLETE 6/8

Marley Base gift received!

Many thanks, Commander. Your reward for making this delivery is:

– 5,000,000 credits

Hello Sandra!

I wrote a silly poem for you about my favourite insect!

Bee Boo Buzz

Boo Buzzy Bee

Be Bee Be

I love bees! Please send me more than 8 thousand bees!

Hip Hip Hooray!

Thank you

Jake (The Bee)

The clues in Jakes letter, appear to be “Bee” / “Bee Be“, “more than 8 thousand bees” and “Hip“. Searching the Galaxy Map for “Bee” will show several results, but one of these results is interesting, a “Beebe Dock” in the HIP 8109 system.

Upon travelling to Beebe Dock in the HIP 8109 system and delivering at least one Festive Gift, you will receive an inbox message with the following:

Sasha Adebayo, Age 8

Hey Sandra,

Mom and Dad say we are “living the dream”, but I miss my friends. Because we’re so very far away, they never visit anymore.

Last week, my little brother found a rat in the kitchen. He named it after the robot that owns our station. I don’t like rats though.

Please could you send me a new pet? A fluffy one? I promise to love it forever!

Thank you 🙂

Sasha

Image: SANDRA’S WORKSHOP 3311 8/8

Sasha’s message that they are “we’re so very far away” and “the robot that owns our station“. These hints point towards Colonia, a cluster of populated systems 22,000 Ly’s from Sol, as there is both “very far away” and the main station the system is owned by a cyborg bartender named Jaques.

Upon travelling to Jaques Station in the Colonia system and delivering at least one Festive Gift, you will receive an inbox message with the following:
