CMDR Paul Bendix – Born in Steel Rain

Starting as a small time data courier, CMDR Paul Bendix worked himself up to a lowly bus driver, flying economy passengers. Only when a demanding General booked him and his Viper MK3,to ferry him round his battlefields and preferred brothels, and after about a hundred nerve wrecking short range Jumps, after which the poor ship was in wreckable condition, he finally earned enough to buy himself into a tightly outfitted Eagle MK2.
From there on, he also joined the Rank of Combateers, as he could not forget the experiences made while ferrying the General, and the only way he could find peace, was with his drives shrieking and his multi-cannons roaring.  But he was not a warmonger.  He settled for the small, but well equipped Neto system, where he could always find some low level scum preying on miners touring the local belts.
There was mainly water, but the occasional low temperature diamond deposit, kept piracy rich in this sector.  So rich, that Paul always found someone that needed justice, while bringing quite a good buck for him too.  Such a good buck, that after a while (and a few near-death experiences in escape pods being ejected from his exploding Eagle) he was able to finally afford a Vulture.  When he heard of the Thargoid’s attack in Galnet, he decided he wanted to put his humble services under the banner of the Canonn Research Group, for the good of mankind.
